Independent Living in a Supportive Community
Welcome To The Retreat
The story of The Retreat Sevenoaks Almshouses is one of enduring community care and architectural heritage nestled in the heart of Sevenoaks, Kent. While the town is home to Almshouses dating back to the 15th century, The Retreat holds its own unique place in history as a late Victorian foundation continuing its vital charitable work into the modern day.
Discover Your Peaceful Sanctuary
The Retreat is more than just accommodation; it’s a peaceful sanctuary where independence meets community. Our seven charming, independent houses offer a welcoming environment for those seeking a supportive, tranquil community paired with the convenience of modern amenities. Furthermore, this website acts as the central resource for all residents and trustees, allowing everyone to stay connected and informed about upcoming events, news, policies, and key documents. The Retreat is a Registered Charity dedicated to providing safe and affordable living for those in need.
Prime Location
One of The Retreat's greatest advantages is its convenient and appealing location. All seven houses are positioned directly behind the Methodist Church, at the top of The Drive, Sevenoaks. This placement offers residents incredibly easy access to both the Sevenoaks Town Centre a short, convenient stroll and the Sevenoaks Railway Station perfect for day trips or visits from family. Enjoy the tranquillity of our surroundings without sacrificing access to local shops, services, and transport links.

Each of the seven self-contained houses is designed for comfortable, independent living. Every unit features an inviting sitting room, a functional kitchen, one bedroom, and a modern shower room.
